I quit believing people when they told me about their sexuality. People lie about it all the time. I treat everyone the same.
One of our ministers was married to a minister who came out. My response is “If he was lying about it then (after 2 kids), how do we know he isn’t lying now?”.
And as to ministers. There are those holding the faithful high. But after being introduced to the numerous televangelists seen on the small screen, even those hold no weight when it comes to truthfulness. Man is not without fault. With lies come consequences. Degrees may vary. This disclosure carries little weight IMHO If stated aloud the question should be asked as to why? Notoriety? Positive results? Negative Results? There is a reason for the admission.
