San Jose police chief Eddie Garcia commended his officers’ response to the violence after the Thursday night rally, saying the 250 officers on hand showed “discipline and restraint.”

Garcia said uniformed officers refused to break from their “skirmish line” to break up nearby scuffles because they weren’t deemed life threatening and that “additional force can incite more violence in the crowd.”

Police stood their ground at first but after about 90 minutes moved into the remaining crowd to break it up and make arrests.

“Many of the attendees were attacked out in the open,” said Pete Constant, a former San Jose councilman and former police officer. “It appears that law enforcement was more focused on protecting private property.”

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, a Democrat and Hillary Clinton supporter: “San Jose police officers performed admirably and professionally to contain acts of violence and protect individuals’ rights to assemble, protest,” the mayor said.

San Jose Mayor Liccardo proves himself to be an utter scumbag with this statement and with his previous lack of support for law-and-order around the Trump event.

Interesting aspect is that Liccardo is actually a former prosecutor (unfortunately many Libtards do infest our ranks of prosecutors and even police forces). Liccardo did take a good stance against the "sanctuary city" policy last summer, so he is not entirely popular with the most leftist turds of his constituency. Incredibly, Santa Clara County (including San Jose) has an astounding 183,000 or so (estimated) illegal aliens!!! That is more than the population of many many counties in the USA. 183,000!!!Here is some info on last summer's debate:

The La Razans always seem to forget that one important fact.

That statement shows that Chief Garcia was protecting the thugs, not the people being attacked. Does anybody seriously believe that San Jose police wouldn't stop a non "life threatening" attack on the anti-Trump thug protesters?

If Chief Garcia actually applied that policy evenly, his officers wouldn't have done anything if 100 pro Trump fighters had arrived and started throwing eggs at the Mexican protesters, burning their flags, punching them, and pushing them onto the ground. Yet we all know that his police would have immediately leaped into the fray and arrested the people doing the fighting in that scenario.

Chief Garcia should be ashamed of himself for allowing his desire for local political popularity to subvert his obligation to protect law abiding citizens. And the officers who went along with him should be ashamed of themselves for failing to act to protect people being attacked right in front of them.
