Reid has called taxes on the wealthy “a basic fairness argument,” also arguing for ‘smart spending and smart tax increases’ to create economic growth.”

Fairness to whom? Why should the unproductive be supported by the productive? Also, please explain "smart tax increases". The Constitution provides for two types of gov't activity to be funded by taxation: 1) Protection and policing of property rights (e.g., a standing military and a legal system), and 2) provision of social overhead capital (e.g., providing those goods that are deemed necessary by society but not provided by private markets). Please tell me where using tax dollars to buy cell phones for deadbeats comes in, other than to buy votes to keep your sorry ass in a job. Time to clear both parties out of office.
