I think you are failing to see the profound and underlying wisdom of stronger together. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Our society is only as strong as the weakest of us.

One of the tricky things about that line of thinking is - it is correct. “It takes a village”, etc. are all conservative ideas. Looking out for your friends and neighbors (”Billy - watch your mouth or I’ll bring the soap myself over to your mom!”, church fundraisers for the fire victim, etc.) But now most folks think the government is supposed to watch over and care for us.
The problem with the socialist view of “it takes a village” is they fail to see the village as an abstract concept: they think the village is an objective entity capable of doing things on its own, not realizing it’s an aggregate of individuals acting in their own interests.
