Here are some highlights from Trump’s speech following the NRA endorsement:
Trump is calling for full reciprocity: enacting laws that would force states to accept concealed carry permits issued by ANY state, vowed to eliminate gun-free zones in schools, and stopping the idea of expanding background checks.
In his speech, Trump made the argument that gun rights are a line of defense against fighting criminal thugs and terrorism. He explained that Hillary Clinton is weak on this issue.
“We’re getting rid of gun-free zones, I can tell you,” he promised and stated, “we had guns on the other side” the San Bernardino, Calif., massacre wouldn’t have been as bad.
Trump smartly referenced Clinton’s advantage with female voters. He explained that limiting a woman’s access to guns as Hillary intends for all, results in a woman who doesn’t “have the right to defend herself.”
“That is so unfair and that is so egregious. I’ll tell you what — my poll numbers with women are starting to go up,” he said.
