The GOP will do whatever it needs to do for self preservation. Doing anything drastic is too risky for them. They will support Trump in public but they will probably be helping Hillary in the background...feed her information or tips etc.

Correctamundo! If this scenario actually did take place,it would still be a two party race...the Dhimmicratic Party and the Trump Party. The Repug party would no longer exist.
Correct, and two reasons that bear special mention: (1) whomever triggers or aggravates a GOP party schism will suffer enduring ill will and loss of political career and influence; and (2), if sufficiently aggrieved by a party split and loss of a fair shot at the Presidency, Trump could make life miserable for whomever is responsible.
