The only US Army soldier who got a Bronze Star for being cold cocked in a truck wreck, Jessica Lynch. My uncle got a WWII Service Medal only for landing on Omaha Beach with the 5th Engineering Bde! Where was his BSM?

I went to an Air Force Staff NCO Academy graduation dinner back in the '80s and a pretty young lady AF Sergeant sitting across from me was wearing a Bronze Star on her dress uniform. I asked her what she did to earn it and she said brightly that she had "supported the effort in Grenada". I asked what she did and she apparently did a great job facilitating supply movement from the Washington DC area during that horrendous conflict.
