I’m not sure what this guy wants. Many conservatives, especially here at FR supported Cruz from the outset (Cruz 1.0), but given the way he’s behaved in this campaign, see him totally different (Cruz 2.0), and also see ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE of him being able to win in November. His entire outreach to non-conservatives seems to be “vote for me because I’m not Hillary”. We proven OVER AND OVER that approach simply doesn’t work, be it the non-Clinton candidate in 1992, or the non-Obama candidates in 2008 and 2012. Cruz seemed to get into this campaign thinking that he would simply coast into the White House in November...and therefore only cared about winning the Primary.
So now we’re left to choose from the following options:
1) Cruz, who doesn’t have a prayer in November - although the GOPe would never put him on the ticket anyway (again Cruz 2.0).
2) Trump, who may or may follow through on his promises.
3) Non-Trump (i.e., Cruz 3.0, since voting Cruz, at this point, but knowing that a Ryan/Romney type will be the nominee out of a contested convention) - which means throwing the election to Hillary, along with Congress, as Trump’s people (myself included) simply won’t vote for ANY REPUBLICAN if they do that to Trump.
Given the options, the choice is easy at this point - you roll the dice with the ONLY Republican candidate that actually can win in November.
Why "they" and "them", and not "we" and "us"?
