I think I’ll have a bonfire tonight to celebrate Erf Day.
Put a lot of hydrocarbons and ash in to the atmosphere just for fun.

I’ll be rolling in my “Six Fo”. It’s got a 327 no emission controls with a tankful of NON-ethanol fuel and a gas guzzling Edelbrock carb, With low-res dual exhausts so I can pollute the air twice as fast. Howdya like me now tree huggers? :)
I love those pre-1970 V8s.

I remember that the United States used to have pretty bad air and water pollution and lots of toxic waste sites. It has been a big improvement in our country that this has been cleaned up a great deal and now we set an example for other countries. Also this started to change around the time of the first Earth Day and I don’t see anything wrong with designating one day a year to celebrate this.
Now’s the time to buy if you got the $$. From I’ve seen in the recent Old Cars Price Guides and Barret Jackson, prices have been stable for past few months.

If it were about “celebrating” achievements in reducing smog and such, you might have a point. (Though you might wanna hold back on the high fives in places in the US where the water is unsafe) But “Earth Day” is pretty much all about what this article says; a day for people to promote misc goofy leftist causes and to remind everyone that humans (especially Americans) are nothing but planetary parasites who need to be culled.
