I am from there and know a lot of the loggers. I used to log up there and sold to these mills.
One logger from Gladstone-i wont give you his name, says that the Escanaba mill owes him around 80 grand. One from Ishpeming is owed a HUGE sum.

Here is the problem. I had a cousin who ran two small specialty mills out east. He said that the new younger generation of managers couldnt manage a can of pickup stix.

And Len was right. They are only there to skim money off the place and run it into the ground. No business mind at all.

The mill at Quinessec had virtually no paper orders at Christmas time-BAD!
Ask the nest trucker you see how much hardwood they have in the yards in those mills. They might be down now a little, but I havent seen that much wood in those yards EVER.

The logger you are referring to needs to ask (require) to be put on a NET 30 account. Its what I did and they happily did it. (tho I’m one person doing a specific job where as he’s one of many, so they may not do it as easily)

As a young man, I worked on the (?) Q41 project and helped build that expansion. It was (the expansion) run like ass and was a disaster, even to my young brain.
