A lot of jokes have been made about what's become of the statue. The truth is, only a very few people know. Emotions still run high and there is a very real danger that the deranged lynch mob that thinks Paterno had something to do with Sandusky's crimes would vandalize or attempt to destroy the statue if they knew where it was. Onward State originally ran the story on April 1^st. Most people did not notice the date, and outsiders do not know how widely despised Erickson is for his scapegoating and other mishandling of the entire affair.

That article is RedState, and it links to it’s source. And I have seen multiple tweets from other news source beginning to show up on Twitter.

And none of the tweets seem to think it was funny if it was supposed to be a joke. Maybe people in Pittsburg do care...
