Here is the deal though. Why would Rubio do it? Pretty much anyone on the ticket with Trump get's one shot, win or out. Rubio is too young to put it all on the line, unless he were to have the blessings of the GOPe for insurance.
It won’t be Rubio if Trump sticks to his word of wanting an experienced insider to deal with Congress.
Rubio will do it because he needs to latch on to something, because he and Cruz hate each other, because he and Jeb hate each other, because he won’t be reelected.
Rubio has no real prospects. All he has are delegates to trade.
Trump might go with Kasich and Cruz might go with Rubio. Wouldn’t that be interesting??? Kasich has all said that he is holding his delegates for the convention (and gathering as many as he can) and Rubio has done the same..
I read somewhere months ago that Rubio was in “win or out” mode from the start. Win the presidency, maybe veep, or he was going to abandon politics and use his connections to make real money, like as a lobbyist or such.
I have no idea but by DC power broker standards he certainly is not rich. Rather poor as a matter of fact.
Rubio has no choice. He will be a lame duck senator and his career will be over once his term is up. His only shot is to hope Trump “buys” his delegates. He can trust Trump. He know Cruz would make promises then screw him.
