Same coloration at the protruding tip of the Ulna extending to the carpal bones. The discoloration extending to the carpal area cannot be attributed to shadows.
I understand this was her photo, not a police shot. I expect a police shot would be with very bright light or flash.
This appears to be a hoax, not an assault.

Interesting. Sure looks like shadows to me. direction of the shadows appears to be consistent with the shading on the arm.
