On August 13, 2015, an online tabloid celebrity gossip contest hints at a Cruz/Carpenter scandal. The journalist/potus sex-scandal was baited to readers, but was unsolved in August.

December 14, 2015, they ran the lobbyist/potus candidate story. This one was solved as Ted Cruz and they noted one of their readers had already guessed it correctly. (Except that Amanda is not a lobbyist.)

EXCLUSIVE! Presidential Candidate Affair:
December 14, 2015
[Blind Gossip] We have the scoop about a dramatic revelation that is expected to shake up the U.S. Presidential race within the next few weeks!

One of the candidates who is expected to make it through to the primary election is going to have to face accusations about a very recent affair. The person with whom they were having the affair: A lobbyist!

Needless to say, this accusation will raise all kinds of questions about impulse control, judgment, honesty, integrity, and vulnerability to influence from special interest groups… as well as their portrayal of themselves as “happily married” and committed to family values.

This could be a game-changer, folks!

a female journalist from a large media company . . . has been talking to friends and colleagues about how worried she is that the story of the affair will break nationally and ruin them both.

Does anyone think this can be true? If you're afraid your "affair" will become public knowledge, you don't discuss it with friends (plural) and colleagues (plural) - that's what you do if you want something, even a lie, to become public knowledge. As for whether it's true, maybe it is, but I have seen no evidence at all. I'm going to take this like I took many such (usually but not always false) rumors in high school - as baseless gossip.

I'd rather talk about protecting our borders, a topic on which Trump and then Cruz are the two best candidates in several decades.

I'd rather talk about repealing Obamacare, a topic on which Cruz and then Trump are the two best candidates since that terrible law was "deemed passed".

I'd rather talk about protecting our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms, a topic on which Cruz and then Trump are two of the best candidates since most people figured out there was no good will on the "we just want these common sense reforms, we don't want to take your guns" side.

We are facing Hillary Clinton, a power hungry version of Bill Clinton's sleaze, but fortunately without any of the charm corrupt people saw in Bill. We are facing Bernie Sanders, the first open socialist to run as a strong candidate in America. This is not the time for patriotic Americans to squabble over frivolous details (and, yes, whether Cruz had a rumored affair for which there is no evidence is a frivolous detail) and try to destroy either of the two best candidates who have a chance to (perhaps) save our country from destruction - and possibly civil war.
