2 Thess 3:10 “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

This isn’t about being greedy or stingy with tax dollars. It’s about the harm that dependence on involuntary charity does to the recipient. It is immoral to take self-respect from people and turn them into welfare bums, government pets who are taken care of in return for their captive votes in favor of the only life they know - the life of a parasite.

A corruption of that scripture appears in Article 12 of the 1936 USSR constitution (commissioned by Stalin):
In the USSR, work is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: "He who does not work, neither shall he eat."

The principle applied in the USSR is that of socialism: "From each according to his ability; to each according to his work."
The scripture absolutely did not mean for submission of the principle to Caesar in all things.
