That is a helluva assumption on your part.
But even if your assumption is true, it gives no indication of what he will do out of love of country. His policy decisions could be well intentioned but absolutely destructive. We just have no way of knowing.
The best we can do is look at what he did and said all his life up until the point he started running for President. I assume, for the obvious reasons, that any new position unveiled while running for President is adopted for convenience. But if you look at Donald Trump prior to 2014, it looks like his policy decisions as President are going to be typically collectivist and hostile to traditional conservative positions.
Makes absolutely no sense. He could have done the same thing only better by supporting Obama the last eight years. He could do the same thing only better by supporting Bernie Sanders...or Hillary Clinton. If he's in it for the "glory" then he could have beaten Hillary Clinton much more easily.
What he said prior to his desire to become president is meaningless. He had to stay on the good side of everybody so that his businesses weren't targeted. Every statement he uttered in public in the past was no doubt part of a larger strategy or said as part of a negotiation. And his conservative statements FAR outnumber the few number of statements that are being culled to "prove" he's a lefty.
Everything he said or did before announcing, was for Donald Trump. Now, at age 70, he doesn’t have or need anything more, he is doing this for his children, grandchildren and all ours. He doesn’t want to see anybody live or grow up in a collapsing economy or in more danger for their lives. If, as President, he even achieves part of what he has proposed, he will go down as one of our best.
People like Cruz (whom I hope will be used in the administration) and Rubio or Romney (if they manage to ram him down our throats again)will be weak. GO TRUMP!
