I just heard the O'Reilly Factor where Cruz and Rubio were interviewed.
The first revelation is that their immigration policies when it comes to deporting illegals is virtually identical to Trump's including the part about rounding up the 11 million illegals and deporting them. I was simply amazed. O'Reilly asked both candidates if they would deport the 11 million illegals and they both said that they would. Six months ago they were not this clear about immigration deportations.
The more interesting answer was from Cruz. O'Reilly suggested that it could not be done because the illegals were entitled to the due process provision of the law. Cruz emphatically said that this was not true and that using ICE the president had the total legal authority to deport illegal aliens in this country. Cruz re-emphasized that with his legal background this was the case.
O'Reilly argued a bit with Cruz and Cruz said that he knew for a fact the president had the total legal authority to deport whoever is here illegally without going through the courts.
Cruz in essence confirmed that what Trump wanted to do regarding deportation all these months is 100% legal and doable under the authority given the president. That was an amazing admission on Cruz' part and a confirmation that Trump as president can indeed deport whoever is in the US illegally. It also confirms that Trump has some pretty good legal advisers on his team and that he knows exactly what he is talking about.
Now, Cruz isn't really going to deport anybody. His position is target criminals (wink, wink) - then the rest will self deport. Sure, all the illegals in the sanctuary cities on public assistance will get up leave... sure.
It being legal and not feasible are not mutually exclusive. As soon as the media starts running the fresh round of pics looking like the Elian Gonzalez raid, the forced deportations will come to a screeching halt. The fickle public will not abide 6yo’s rounded up at gunpoint....and the media will make sure that is what we see. And you know that will happen.
Which is why Cruz has advocated the piecemeal approach for years despite the numerous lying hypocritical hacks on this thread.
I gave you Trump’s own words, and apparently you can’t handle the truth.
Nice cherry picking....there’s plenty of other links for any source you wish, including video and only takes a small amount of effort to come out from under Donnie’s skirt long enough to see it.
No they are not. That is why Cruz said they will self deport. Or has the ‘Great Cruz’ changed his mind again.
I like how the Cruz camp has invented this term “touchback amnesty”. Because they just have to be able to say Trump is for amnesty so they made up this meaningless term.
If illegals have to leave before they can return, then won’t they be legal when they do? So how is that amnesty? Is the new standard that if you are currently in the country illegally now, you can only leave and NEVER return? That’s not on any candidate’s dance card, period. Least of all Cruz’s and Rubio’s.
I listened to Cruz very intently the first 6 months of the race. He said plainly many times that there would be “no amnesty”. But he also said, every single time he was asked, that there would have to be a “a conversation” about what to do with illegals already here. He has never advocated for deportation of illegals other than convicted criminals.
Rubio has not been as good as Cruz about avoiding a position. As others have already noted, in Spanish he says things a lot differently than in English.
Trump has been very clear in his position that jobs are for Americans first, but he has also been sensitive to the agriculture industry who has been crying that they will die a horrible death if deportations begin. That is why Trump has said there will be an expedited process (I assume he means work permits) for workers who are needed in those industries.
Cruz supporters are not winning any points with me with that stupid “touchback amnesty” line. It’s bogus and dishonest.
I guess they’re all out to get Trump...
Trumps words: But, the good ones, of which there are many, I want to expedite it so they can come back in legally.
Fish in a barrel.
Sorry, I heard Cruz say it in Huntsville. Self-deportation is a natural and logical result of sending others back to their country of origin.
Dis you eat paint chips as a child?
Posted half a dozen links...with video:
Get them out so they can come back in, to gain legal status and according to Trump, “who knows down the road” regarding citizenship.
He added, âThen we have a law, right? Youâre supposed to come in legally. I would get people out, and I would have an expedited way of getting them back into the country so they can be legal.â
Trump elaborated that he would give these illegal immigrants, âLegal status,â not citizenship, but, âlater down the line, who knows whatâs going to happen.â He clarified that this meant citizenship would be âsomething I would think about, but I would say right now no. Iâm not open to it. I would say legal status.â
DING DING DING!!!
Clean-up your plagiarized BS so it is legible before you post to me, and then maybe I will read it.
Legal status for law breakers is still amnesty. To say otherwise is a lie that Obama would be pushing.
Oh,I got a kick out of your jive that maybe “Cruz is getting a bath of Christian honesty.”
It would be great to see Trump BECOME A CHRISTIAN or try to live with a semblance of integrity. I don’t know too many people who have left TWO wives, not one, for mistresses and been a serial adulterer, along with a supporter of killing unborn children. But the cult of Trump continues on this website.
In the run-up to South Carolina, Trump came out in favor of the health-care mandate, defended Planned Parenthood, accused George W. Bush of lying about the Iraq War, and stood by his call to impeach Bush. (He later retreated on the mandate and on Bushâs supposedly lying.) His consistent inconsistency helps explain why only four in ten GOP voters in a new Associated Press poll view Trump in a positive light. He will have trouble growing his coalition to win a majority of delegates, even as more candidates drop out.
SO SIX IN TEN GOP voters see Trump in a negative light. I’m one of the millions. Don’t get too haughty too early.
If you’re getting JoSixChip mad, and getting his typical nasty responses, you’re doing a great job. Many of the Trump supporters lose their cool easily, just like their Jedi master.
