How do the next 20 primary states feel about Rubio's weak position on amnesty and mass immigration?

Posted on 02/20/2016 5:34:36 PM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

I feel Rubio's actually going poorly. He's won no states. Tweety bird knee thriller Chris Matthews predicted no states will be won by establishment candidates. He also predicted a Goldwater type candidate emerging.

The southern states and mountain states have big internal GOP immigration fights.

The lead Senators against the 1965,2005, 2006,2007 & 2013 immigration bills were from these states.

Think of the new GOP leaders on the issue: Sessions Al., Vitter La., Tancredo Co., Coburn Ok., & Lee Ut.

Think of the GOP losers of these battles: Cannon Ut., Perry Tx., Dewhurt Tx., Cantor Va., Larry Craig ID., ...

Candidate who will be under water the rest of their careers: Flake Az., McCain Az. Kyl Az., Hatch Az.,

The Arizona RINOs may survive due to runoff rules.

Soft-spoken non suicidal GOP candidates Enzi Wy., Risch Id., Crapo Id., Barasso Wy., Blunt Mo., ...

From the SCOTUS thread:

"Richard Lugar (IL) - Primaried out of office

Olympia Snowe (ME) - retired after primary threat

Judd Gregg (NH) - gone!

Kit Bond (MO) - gone!

George Voinovich (OH) - gone!"

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/07/29/vitter-defends-southern-influence-in-gop-slams-voinovich/

"Mel Martinez (FL) - gone!

Lamar Alexander (TN) - who's surprised?

Lindsey Graham (SC) - who's surprised?

Susan Collins (ME) - only republican senator who rates BELOW democrats "

...

Gov. Paul LePage (ME) - new leader on immigration

Because Cruz put his whole campaign on SC and he failed miserably. Voters reject him.

From what I hear, Eastern states don’t care anything about immigration. They don’t have the same problems that Western a states have and they just don’t care.

Winner needs 1237 delegates. A long way to go, even for turmp. Too many candidates spreading out the delegates.

Bush suspended, Kasich should quit and so should carson, leaving three but the plan does not work with three of is actually much harder.

Scott Brown is better than most of Rubio’s whole endorsement gang. LePage attacks illegal aliens and muslim refugees every week in an announcement. Boston Radio host Howie Carr mentions illegal aliens in every paragraph of content on his show. Washington based host Laura Ingraham dislikes illegals.

New York’s Mark Levin dislikes illegals.

I think Congressman Joe Walsh’s radio show goes to parts of New York.

Part of the convenience of the Trump campaign is I think he does better than many other candidates with white women.

Cruz is NOT a plant for Mrs. Bill and unlike Jebbie, who might bolt, won’t vote for Mrs. Bill in the general election.

Rubio will do a credible job of misrepresenting his position. He has a new line of patter, and it is effective. He is now "secure the border first, no amnesty (whatever that means).

What will be interesting is how much fire Rubio and Cruz direct against each other, compared with firing at Trump. The press and pundits are rock-hard against Trump.

I certainly agree - I was just getting frustrated about people saying that regarding Trump.

I’m not saying it couldn’t have happened, but with Trump cutting into Hillary as he did, and elevating immigration as he did, it’s hard to say he was doing the Dems any favors.
