I’d like to know the date his father applied for Canadian citizenship, and the date his father received Canadian citizenship.
What the RNC has done is disgusting... what Trump has done looks like money laundering.
_______________
Nope. You have it backward.
Trump Foundation must report on form 990 both donors and expenditures.
Jebbie’s buddies with 501C4 do not have to disclose either... that is where the money laundering come is...
NBC is important, I agree.
But there is pretty broad legal consensus on what it means. To an originalist, it might be an issue. Sadly, the chief constitutionalist on the court just died.
That would mean that Cruz’s candidacy would be determined by the 4 liberals. It’s a good time on Scotus for him to have it presented to them for decision.
Barring any lawsuit, this won’t be decided this election, either. He doesn’t appear to be winning for it to become an issue. The only reason Trump could have to file a suit is to do Cruz a favor so he can pick him up as VP.
“Please! The smarmy Republican leadership has been trying to increase the tent with illegal aliens and terrorists and your complaining about Trump not being a ârealâ Republican. Wow, just wow.”
The post was about the stupidity of his legal threats. Funny you would pull off into a side rail. Nice job. Copy that screed from DU? seems kind of sensitive about the legitimacy of a REAL republican who just finished, once again, to thinnk Planned Parenthood “did good stuff.” Not worth arguing after that.
[Proof that veterans groups have not gotten the money please]
They don’t have proof. These Cruz supporters are woven from the same immoral and unethical cloth as their lying and cheating idol. They are more in line with liberal tactics than those they falsely claim Trump practices.
In psychology, that’s called “Projection”.
No one seems able to nail down his application for Canadian citizenship and his receipt of that Canadian citizenship.
What difference does it make?
Besides the Vietnam War which is a personal issue with me, the child, Ted Cruz, would have been born in Canada to a father who was identifying with Ted Cruz’s birthplace. One has to wonder if the mother also applied but didn’t follow through. That might explain why we don’t see a CRBA or a birth passport.
Did you read the article I linked to? It provides some other interesting information?
If he really believes Cruz is not eligible, why would he NOT sue if Cruz retracts "alleged **lies** about Trumps positions." Either he doesn't really believe Cruz is ineligible and is lying to stir up the LIV attacks against Cruz, or he believes that Cruz is ineligible but doesn't care about it, as long as Cruz doesn't hurt his feelings.
I agree with the timing. As i am an originalist and have been since my youth, I am distressed to see the constitution reduced bit by bit every day. We need to educate our citizens and go back to teaching Civics in school.
I don’t think Trump has any interest in picking up Cruz as his VP since Cruz has turned so rabid. I would hope Trump wouldn’t even consider it. Someone like Sessions would be far more valuable. Cruz’s sneak tactics and holier than thou attitude has nixed him for too many people. He’s no longer useful.
A few questions:
First - About the father, Rafael Sr and his selective service card. I’ve read elsewhere that he officially emigrated to Canada in 1969. This article says the process might have begin as early as 1967. As you recall, the Vietnam War was RAGING in those years. It is odd that he went immediately to Canada upon receiving his ‘selective service card’.
The question: even though he was older, one has to wonder about draft numbers and green card holders. I know they were eligible to be drafted. However, what was Rafael Cruz’s draft number and what was his culpability to the draft?
Second - About the mother. I have heard that voter registration rolls were automatic, but were not based on registration but on simply having an address. However, if her husband had moved to Canada, and she had also, it would have made sense for her to join her husband in applying for Canadian citizenship. My understanding of the law was that dual citizenship was discouraged, so one might gain it by being a Canadian born overseas, but if one were applying for Canadian citizenship, then a renunciation of old citizenship would have been expected. This is hinted at in Senior’s giving up Canadian citizenship when he became a US citizen. He doesn’t mention also giving up Cuban citizenship. Why? Because he’d already had to give that up when obtaining Canadian citizenship.
So, for Eleanor Cruz, did she give up US citizenship at any point, or enter a process that would have resulted in that eventually?
Actually, now that Scalia has died, we don’t want to risk losing anyone out of the senate. We already have 24 seats up to the democrats 10 seats in the 16 elections.
That’s one reason I’d tell Cruz and Rubio to go home and protect their senate seats.
Questions that deserve answers. Someone should ask Cruz these questions. I am sure the Dems will ask them if Cruz is the nominee.
It’s takes a day to wire money.
I understand Rubio is not running. Was he assured by the RNC that he would be VP in a Bush presidency? We both know Rubio is an open borders follower of the Cheap Labor Express and NWO funders. He is a perfect match for Bush. Since the RNC is in the bag for Bush, they are promoting their backup, Rubio. He has been down right sloppy in his obligations to the people of the State of Florida who elected him, not even showing up on important votes. Their plans have backfired, however. Florida is going for Trump.
Ma’am, you clearly don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.
I was detailed to the Bush White House immediately after 9/11 and, while there’s plenty about which we can criticize his administration, treatment of veterans isn’t one of them. The chief of his USSS protective detail is a very good friend of mine and told me that, almost once a week while he was in office, GW visited Bethesda/Walter Reed to personally visit wounded veterans, pin their medals and just speak to them. He personally did things for and with veterans that have never seen the light of day - things that no other president has ever done - and he wanted them to be private, with no media present.
While maybe not as notable as service to veterans, he also did things for his protective detail and the White House staff that were highly unusual, done entirely out of a sense of service and appreciation for those who served him.
The Veterans Administration has been an abject mess for decades and no one, not George Bush or even Donald Trump can single-handedly fix it. You should be utterly ashamed of saying such a thing when you clearly have no idea what the hell you’re talking about.
Oh, and I am a retired Army officer.
It has bothered me that Cruz senior left for Canada at the height of the Vietnam war and came back in the year the war officially ended.
It could be a coincidence, but somehow I think not.
It definitely showed to desire to be a US citizen, so by the law of 1790, those early Americans might have decided that Cruz had not been ‘resident in’ the US, one of the provisions that had to be met for an overseas child to be an NBC.
In other words, it appears that the 1790 law is saying that, when only the mother is a US citizen, then the father has to evidence being “resident in” the US. Also, he had to have no state questioning his acceptability. Those are the 2 provisions in the US law of 1790.
I’ll bet Louisiana would have questioned his acceptability as a draft dodger gone to Canada and applying for Canadian citizenship.
You hit the nail on the head. The only thing we have on Cruz’s mother is her birth certificate in Delaware. What about her marriage certificate? Why did she list her divorced husbands name as her maiden name? There are just too many what if’s to suit me.
