Some years ago, because members of the Republican Party are called Republicans, Rush started calling it the Democrat Party because its members are called Democrats and not Democratics. It's basically sort of a jab at the Donkey Party members..... JTPTO.

I’ve been correcting people for 50 years on this point. No one cares, it seems. Moreover, people insist on referring to the US as a “democracy.” To my knowledge, the word does not appear in any of the Founders’ documents.
