America is being destroyed by the murder of the middle class and these trends will continue to accelerate if another Democrat is elected.
Sen. Bernie Sanders kicked off a town hall in New Hampshire Wednesday night by ensuring the poor and middle class major tax increases.
An audience member asked Sanders about how his socialist plan to raise taxes would be help him on a $41,000 a year salary.
Sanders claimed people would ultimately save money funding his âMedicare-for-all, single-payer program â and not having to pay health insurance premiums.
From Breitbart:
Sanders was asked by Chris Brownell, âSenator Sanders, the first thing I hear about you is that youâre going to raise taxes on the middle class. I support my family on a salary of $41,000 a year. Iâm wondering if you raise my taxes, how does that help me?â
He responded, âThis is what we are going to do, the United States is the only major country on earth that doesnât guarantee healthcare to all people, and we end up spending far, far more per capita on healthcare, as do the people of any other country, Canada, UK, France, whatever. What we are going to fight for, is a Medicare-for-all, single-payer program, which would provide comprehensive healthcare to your family, and every family in America. So, let me tell you what we do, we raise your taxes if youâre somewhere in the middle of the economy, about 500 bucks, but you know what weâre going to do? For healthcare, weâre going to reduce your healthcare costs by $5,000. So, youâre going to pay a little bit more in taxes, but youâre no longer going to have to pay private health insurance premiums. Now, Iâve been criticized for this, but I believe that healthcare is a right of all people, that we should not have these deductibles and co-payments. We should not be paying the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs, and our Medicare-for-all program will guarantee comprehensive care to all people, and save middle class families some thousands of dollars a year.â
Brownell then stated, âI mean, if it saves me on health insurance premiums, I will gladly pay more taxes.â
Sanders added, â[S]ometimes people distort things. And Iâve had 30-second ads run against me years ago, Bernie is going to raise your taxes! But they forget to say, weâre going to do away with your private health insurance premiums. Bottom line here is, we spend almost three times more per person than the British, 50% more than the French. We can save substantial sums of money, and my Medicare-for-all system is funded in a very progressive way. Yes, youâll pay a little bit more, but your health premiums will disappear.
Heâll just raise your taxes and the government will be in total control of your healthcare. What a deal!
No thanks, Uncle Bernie.
We are not France or Denmark or Canada.
Money in public health care funds is the easiest for the politicians to steal.
Bernie idiotically believes that healthcare is a âright,â so the government must provide it. My second amendment is a right, should the government buy me guns?
If you love the VA then youâll love Berniecare.
Another thing that Mad Uncle Bernie misses is that doctors and hospitals frequently LOSE money on Medicare - the folks with insurance or paying their own way get stuck with making up teh difference.
Related observation:
We expect every adult to work around 40 years, saving up enough to achieve financial independence thereafter.
Why don’t we expect the government to do the same? After 200+ years of taking some 20% of all incomes and _owning_the_d@mn_money_presses_, why haven’t the feds managed to set up self-sustaining investments so productive they pay _us_?
All this talk of money hides the real problem with this solution.
First, you have to give up your freedom for security.
Not on my watch!
The obvious follow-up question is this: who provides the other $4,500??
I would love to read that...Keep us informed about the release
Let me summarize:
Man: Raising taxes makes me spend more money
Bernie: If I take $500 from everyone, I can give back $5000 in services!
Man: Sounds like a good deal to me
I imagine this is the guy who pays sticker price for his car, buys the rustproofing and undercoating etc...
Bernie's background and experience in dealing with money and economics is revealed in his history of never having held a real job or earning a paycheck and being destitute for most of his adult life. His first paycheck was a government one and his idea of where money comes from is from the government via taxing working people, something he has little experience at.
Should a man who didn't have a pot to piss in for the first four decades of his life, be elected chief executive of a county where he would tell the population how not to achieve success?
IF, she was on the same plan, but we know that is not true.
HAHAHA! You funny!
FMCDH(BITS)
Question for Bernie: What makes you think you can make Socialism work when everyone else who has ever tried has failed.
(Looks like we are experiencing a new posting gremlin independent of the quotes one. Great!)
Ol'Bernie can claim senility, I suppose, but he's going from bad to worse.
Robbing decades of working Americans and employers' contributions to Social Security goes *poof* in the senile ass****s mind.
No, Thanks, champion of the indolent!
Great question.
Gonna have to google that.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
The short answer is... NO HE HAS NEVER HAD A REAL JOB
But the long answer is even funnier, hilarious, this classic of illiteracy he must have written himself.
Check it out.
You'll be LYAO!!
I'm Series!
Parasites need a host, tag your it
You will notice that Bernie and the other Socialists thieves never give any of the money they stole and put into their personal accounts to the “Little people” they claim to love.
Anytime you say you are going to rob Peter to pay Paul, you will always have Paul’s support.
I searched this jerk all over the Internet. He is the absolute worse SOB to ever run. He has been against what our founding fathers were for all his life.
So not only is the government going to have another way to hold us by the throat, but we’re going to have to foot the bill for it as well.
