Trump’s whole campaign was based on success breeding success, the citing of self-referential poll victories to justify his own candidacy.
What happened in Iowa was that some version of normalcy returned to the G.O.P. race. The precedents of history have not been rendered irrelevant.
Ted Cruz picked up the voters who propelled Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee to victory in previous caucuses. His is a Tea Party wing in the G.O.P. But its size and geographic reach is limited.
The amazing surge for Marco Rubio shows that the Republican electorate has not gone collectively insane. At the last moment, and in a state that is not naturally friendly to him, a lot of Republicans showed up to support a conservative who could conceivably get elected and govern.
Marco Rubio now has his moment. He is the only candidate who can plausibly unify the party. Desperate Cruz-hating Republicans will turn their faces to him.
The Republican Party usually nominates unifying candidates like Marco Rubio. The laws of gravity have not been suspended. He has a great shot. But he has to show one more burst of imagination.

The establishment is giddy about the Rubio strong showing. They now have their man. They were scared to death that they were thinking they might have to ride with Trump. Those fears are over. Rubio is going deep in this race and might just win.
Get used to it. From now all the left and the GOPe along with the MSM especially Fox news are going to pimp Rubio night and day.
Trump needs to forget Cruz who has no shot and go after Rubio like a Duck on a June bug.
I can't always agree with Trump but he is authentic as his own man. Cruz is authentic about his ideals probably because he was raised that way by his holy roller dad. Rubio? To me Rubio calculated that the GOP needs a token hispanic and he is Cuban and that was his way in and he could get far playing that hispanic card.
I can live with Rubio. Just too tired to try to live with Trump. Had enough of that man and his ego.

Europeans are not coming to the USA any longer because they have it good there and our economy can no longer support a family of kids on two incomes let alone one like the past.

If you think the GOP e is that powerful, you are just stuck in the past. If you think the GOP e is more worried about Trump than Cruz, you are delusional. If you think the GOP e is in as strong a position this cycle as the DNC you are off your meds.
If you think that either a Trump or Cruz win this cycle will resemble anything like 2008 and 2012 then you have no ability to analyze why’s and wherefore’s and nuance - basically it means you are totally shallow in your synopsis.
And your’e wrong on Rubio: he outspent Cruz in Iowa. But again, why you can’t see that the establishment is losing - that Rubio is a desperate attempt on their part - that the 3-4 REALLY estab candidates are in the 1’s and 2’s....shows a lack of insight on your part.

Jeb was a poor candidate. Rubio is smart enough to play ball and he gets praise from people like Limbaugh. He also isn’t damaged severely from the fight so far.
If you want to pretend that Cruz has some special magic or pious guidance, then by all means keep up the smugness.
He is also getting big praise from the MSM.
Enjoy another week off. And be prepared to get the ban-hammer if you persist in this level of personal attacks ever again.

That poster and those like him will be major contributing factors to Hillary getting elected vis a vis Trump. Cruz, unfortunately, at present, doesn’t stand a chance of becoming POTUS.
