Did we again change the definition of conservative? Last I knew Trump was not one.
From what I can gather: Ronald Reagan, the hero of most conservatives today, was a liberal between 1932 and 1962 at the height of liberalism in America. He strongly supported FDR, arguably the most liberal President in American history, and the New Deal policies of the era, including Social Security. Reagan not only supported FDR, he admired the man too.
Here are the eleven Reagan principles.
⢠Freedom
⢠Faith
⢠Family
⢠Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life
⢠American Exceptionalism
⢠The Foundersâ Wisdom and Vision
⢠Lower Taxes
⢠Limited Government
⢠Peace Through Strength
⢠Anti-Communism
⢠Belief in the Individual
Yes over time we have. Conservative no longer means conserving our wealth for our own country. Today conservationism means chatting up less spending and moral issues while selling the country down the drain to international interests: open borders, unlimited immigration and subsidies for shipping jobs overseas. Sound like Ted Cruz?
So maybe Trump is not a conservative !! Would he be any different than what the conservatives, liberals, democrats, Republicans and Independents have brought us in the past ?? Stick’un all in a sack and shake’um out and there won’t be a nickels worth of difference for the working man in any of them so choose your poison. They’re all the same once they are sworn in.
