What aspects of the daughter's behavior did you take into account to make that decision?
Was the daughter skipping school? Was she dating a married man? Was she meeting strangers she encountered on the internet? Was she using the phone to deal drugs?
Unlike a friend of mine, I never had to retrieve my daughter from a sheriff's office one hour drive from home. Two months without a phone might have seemed like a slap on the hand.
The girl was 12 at the time so I will guess she was getting either texts from an older boy or man that set the father off.
