Wonderful interview here of Jerry Falwell, Jr.

(HiTechRedNeck, I liked what you wrote. You seem to do a high percentage of your own thinking.)
Anyway, I'm going to repeat what I wrote, here, because it still seems applicable:
It is touching and edifying if Trump expressed his gratitude with a generous gift. That's the kind of thing Elvis Presley used to do: and I liked Elvis a lot, actually. But it didn't qualify him to be President.
I am cognizant of Trump's long history of generous gifts to Democratic candidates and causes. Over the previous two decades of U.S. elections, Trump's top 10 recipients of political contributions were six Democrats and four Republicans.
Trump wrote in 2008 that Hillary Clinton would be a great president. When asked in 2015 which recent president was best, Trump picked Bill Clinton. The Clintons' foundation has received between $100,000 and $250,000 from Trump.
Several things stood out to me while listening to the actual speech that Trump made at Liberty University and then refreshed that on here:
There is a difference between a ‘Sunday School Teacher and a business man’ and
There is a difference between a ‘politician’ and an American Business man that has shown how to build America and that’s what I’m looking for, someone who will run the Government as a business and not as their own private bank...
I reported it as a lie. Would not have known but say it posted and pulled the other night, reason given: Does not pass the snopes test.
Truth matters.
Well it all went into the never never land.
A Democrat Donald Trump might have been able to still exist up to around the time of Jimmy Carter. After that, forget it, for anything at presidential level. It would have represented selling his soul to the devil. And he knew that, this is why he opted to either be indy or go with the only major party with a vestige of sanity left.
Snopes is truth? This means FR is getting led around by the ear, by LIBERALS.
What happened to the 1st Amendment inspired process of enlightened discussion?
I think it was pulled because they believed it was an article rather than the video. Maybe the story about the limosine is embellished. I don’t know.
I do know that the story about the three companies that Trump saved in Iowa when Maytag left is true, because the man has been to the rallys. I think it was Newton.
The story about giving money for the Hoops Program is true, and the $100,000 for the church and the Liberty scholarships.
I think you will see a trickle of people coming in to support him, more and more from the legitimate and respected media and culture.
I saw where Cruz tithes very little of his money.
I also (generally, not always!) agree with Thomas Jefferson, that Error may be given its liberty, if Truth is left free to combat it.
I think the message here is, the man has a heart, very much like all of us.
He’s a good role model.
DId you see the posting where he voted as a republican in all elections going back to 1987?

I think you’re referring to the limosine story. Maybe it is a lie. If so, that’s fine. Let’s concentrate then on the interview, and the other 95% that is not a lie.
I’m not here to push lies, I’m here to show that there is much to this man that goes unreported.
Snipping that having a heart doesn’t mean that one has nothing needed to be president, seems to me to miss the point.
I think we have seen where heartless presidents go. We could endure a long line of Bushes, but one Obama is a disaster.
This is what used to be known as classic liberal, before our modern illiberal “liberal” set took over, claiming to be good custodians of everything merciful and gracious and actually managing to be anything but. Because they consistently pointed to a wrong source, which is not God.
I would hope we could bring our controversies of truth before God, not just before Snopes. There might be elements of truth even in a “literally false” story that are worthy of note, and God will testify to our consciences about this.
Lu, is it ironic your freepname begins with libby?
What’s more... we’ve had other lying news stories lead off articles here, and they end up getting refuted more or less soundly, and not taken off. Some get barf alerts, some do not. Why not a Snopes alert e.g. [Snopes disagrees] and then let the discussion continue just in case Snopes DID miss something? Snopes isn’t God. We are pro-God aren’t we?
Even you, Libby (which I hope means more than a conservative version of a modern “liberal”) I hope you would have some respect and expand on “classical liberal” tradition here rather than being snippy censor.
Here is an article that says the TRUMP story is NOT TRUE.
What bothers me about the article is the following.
DATE OF ARTICLE: October 25, 1999|by BILL WHITE, The Morning Call
Now, if you read to the bottom, you find this: “The bottom line is that you should not back Donald Trump’s candidacy on the basis of this Celebrity Car Breakdown story.”
SO.... was TRUMP running for President in 1999 ?
This makes the story very suspicious.

... Lu, is it ironic your freepname begins with libby? You are using DT’s tactics, try to belittle or destroy all who do not kiss your butt.
I can take no offense. I do not support DT who has a fabulous liberal resume. If you think I am a liberal fine with me. It does not change truth.
I object to this characterization. You do not need to “kiss MY butt” but you had better consider “kissing the SON” (Psalm 2) who happens to be a lot more tolerant towards those seeking the truth, and does not honor party spirit. Like what you show, in spades.
Well, don’t know how Hannity sold that, but the other things Falwell says are true.
This is beginning to sound like the myths surrounding Bo Jackson. lol
The interview is what is important...
What’s more you are missing (as many rabidly anti-Trump people do) the Trump DEAL offer.
Trump is saying to America: WRITE MY RESUME FOR ME!
How clearly can we miss a door marked with a neon sign reading “OPPORTUNITY”?
Some people would be ungrateful for an empty glass and a carton of milk because the glass hadn’t already been filled for them.
I reposted the interview. So that takes the heresy away from discussion.
