It is. Long, a little dense, but it shows the chaos that follows abandonment of moral absolutes.

It is a great article if you understand Greenfield's style. I wouldn't recommend it to a first time reader, however.

They will look at an isolated statement like this and think he's gone off the deep end: A total breakdown in civility can be refreshing.

I'm amazed at the number of otherwise clear rational people who get the vapors over random statements of Donald Trump as if he invented the total breakdown in civility. He did not come even close.

Anybody remember BO's tactics after he was elected and before and just after he took office? Office of the President Elect? Making his contempt clear for his predecessor? He could have just quietly skipped his predecessor's farewell address to the nation, but had to make it very public.

Compare and contrast that boorish behavior to Ronald Reagan who had the class and decency to ask Jimmy Carter to go represent him at Andrews Air Force base as the hostages returned from Iran.
