Today's journalists are easily surprised by news on Obama - everything is so unexpected to them. His failures and his beliefs consistently take them unaware. Very few sensible people are surprised that Obama's fellow Muslims recognize him as one of their own (at least culturally).

Of course if one is a Muslim one must hold one of two views about Obama:

• He is a Muslim because his father was a Muslim, or
• He is a murtad fitri (an apostate who was born Muslim and thus given even less slack in terms of time for repentance than converts to Islam who apostasize) and subject to the death penalty for apostacy (after an appropriate call to repentance and short opportunity to repent, how short depending upon the school of fiqh one follows).

The fact that no well-regarded imam has issued a fatwa against Obama, or against the United States specifically on the grounds of having chosen a murtad fitri as President makes clear that the Muslim religious establishment regards Obama's islamophilic policies that rankle many Americans as sufficient proof that the first alternative is correct.
