As I post this, Gold is up $14 and Platinum is down -$13 and oil is below $30. Gold rising in the face of falling commodities is trying to tell us something. IMO.

I believe you may be half right. ;-) I think the fabled "inflationary" depression will finally make its appearance. I think that's what rising gold prices are signaling.

I think demands on government will necessitate the printing of more and more money from "thin air". This will inflate the prices of many goods and services people can't do without, like toilet paper.

I have to say I think this is a total devolving spiral and its going to be worse than an inflationary depression. When the currency crashes people will go to gold and silver as a safe haven. That is what always happens.

Yes we have spent the last year practicing our gardening skills on a raised bed and in containers. As soon as it warms up we are getting chickens. I think 6 years of prepping is going to pay off.

I've been thinking of getting a few chickens as well. I like the idea of a "self-propelled chicken tractor" so they can eat bugs and grubs, instead of commercial feed.

You're right about prepping. I hope more and more people start to do so. I've been growing in containers too, and this year I plan to try fabric bags for some things, like tomatoes.
