Having been there, reality is that pregnant mothers do injure the mission in the field. First, they get deferments from duty or they get discharged. Either way they leave an empty slot that has to be filled by others working huge hours. Second, any activity that isn’t mission focused takes time away from the mission. Third, babies can’t be brought on military operations, so separation anxiety severely affects deployed mothers.

It’s a mistake. Logic says so.
