My first tour was as a radar technician (2884) with a line battalion (3/4 out of Camp Schwab). I was part of the S-2 shop on paper, but worked with Comm platoon unless we were on a big operation, at which times I was usually back with the S-2 working with STA platoon.

We covered this, and I remember that there were books I read following the Marine Corps Professional Reading list that covered various theories about communist and Muslim threats that went into this and other potential eventualities in some detail.

I went Airforce (as a 30451) my second tour and back to the Marines (2171) for my last enlistment. After the Soviet collapse I decided to get out, but didn’t separate until September of 91 after we got all our TOW systems inspection ready again.

ISIS has landed some 700,000 fighting age males into Germany. Germany doesn’t have enough police or army to oppose them. They are still coming.
It’s going to be a hot time in Germany.

I was 3373. 1981-87. Didn’t have time for much else. So when I am surprised, nobody ever talked about these sort of things with us. We were focused on the plant and that was about it.
