This problem sprang up in October and has yet to be solved. For now, after you copy and before you paste, run your article through one of the filters mentioned above. Smart (curly) quotes are the biggest offender.
I will remember that. I guess we need to get the word out to everyone to do the same thing.
If you then cut the text from the Preview window or Forum page, and paste them back into this "Your Reply" box, Them Preview or Post them again, the dumb-quotes-turned-into-smart-quotes will cause the gobbledegook to appear.
