Everyone Fears Ted Cruz
Right Wing News ^ | 01 Jan, 2016 | Brent Smith

Yes, Cruz is the real deal. No need to take my word for it. Just look and listen. It's as Limbaugh says: the left and the establishment right will always tell you who they fear the most.

Sure, they hate both Trump and Cruz. The hatred for Trump is understandable, from their standpoint. He makes republicans look bad – he's intolerant and generally causes them embarrassment. But the antipathy for Cruz is born of fear. They fear the end of the government gravy train if he get's elected. They fear that with Cruz at the helm, Americans may just discover they don't actually need Washington involved in every facet of their lives. They fear an uncompromising Constitutional standard bearer as head of the party.

So their strategy is to send out trusted surrogates to trash the candidate and place the seed of doubt in voter's minds (and big money backers) that a Cruz nomination will surely equal a Hillary win.

Case in point: Moderate republican shill and former George W. Bush communications director Nicolle Wallace said in an interview regarding Ted Cruz: "He is truly despised [by republicans] - he is not a team player" and is apparently the king of "hubris and egomania." She, like almost all other establishment hacks, pundits and politicians are just plain befuddled, as Wallace, with an uncomfortable laugh, tells the interviewer that Cruz is "at the top of the polls in Iowa, so I think voters are saying they just don't care."

The key here is not so much that Cruz is despised or is tops in hubris and egomania. No - it's that "he is not a team player." I'm reminded of the movie Johnny Dangerously. A gangster boss known as Johnny Dangerously is actually Johnny Kelly. His younger brother Tommy Kelly has no idea he is the notorious mob boss Dangerously. Tommy is appointed assistant District Attorney and vows to bring down the infamous gangster. The D.A., who's on the mob's take, invites Tommy to his palatial estate, which is all courtesy of gangster payoffs. He tells Tommy, he too could have what the D.A. has, as he proclaims, "It's all yours Tommy, if you play ball! What do you say?" – to which Tommy replies, "I'll see you in prison!"

With this unfortunate confirmation of the assistant D.A.'s lack of cooperation, the mob, unknown to Dangerously, attempts to then "take out" his younger brother Tommy.

Ted Cruz is Tommy Kelly. He must be taken out.

Wallace explains that, "these are good republicans who worked in the Bush administration and who clerked in the Supreme Court who say they would have a really hard time voting for Ted Cruz if he were the republican standard bearer."

What can you say to an exclamation such as that - but WOW! I've been holding my nose and pulling the lever for progressive establishment republicans since 1988 and these people have the nerve to cry over one conservative candidate? Look at who we've been conned and bullied into supporting, all for the good of the precious party! George H.W. Bush, the kinder/gentler progressive. Bob Dole, war hero, but his nomination was equivalent to a lifetime achievement award. George W. Bush, who merely pretended to be a conservative. Bush lied - my vote died. And of course the other two loser establishment picks: McCain and Romney.

And we're not allowed one candidate? This inner circle of power and control is very exclusive and conservatives are not allowed a seat at the table - and we certainly don't have the necessary accreditation to sit at the head of the table.

What have we conservatives been saying all along? If someone like Cruz or Trump gets the nomination, the establishment would much prefer a Hillary presidency and this is the exact veiled threat the establishment kingmakers sent Wallace out to disseminate.

They are scared to death of Ted Cruz. It is a delight to see and I personally count it as a gift to finally be able to back someone I believe in – not someone we have to settle on, or like Romney, try to convince ourselves that he will be okay. We finally have someone for whom we don't have to constantly wonder, "Is he for real this time?"

You two just made the case against Cruz. He did NOTHING as the theft was occurring/when he could actually have made a difference. Squat. AFTER Cochran’s win was a done deal, he called for an investigation.

This is his pattern: totally ineffectual gestures. Like that much ballyhooed filibuster. It accomplished exactly nothing.

If you two were arguing against Cruz, you could not had done so more effectively.

With all due respect listing a series of failed bills in the Senate as a “success” is nothing to crow about.

In fact Cruz supports literally have nothing to point to and say “see! Look at the success Cruz’s leadership has had in the senate”. But they will use the fact that he is in the Senate, and thus has the privilege of introducing bills that get less than 10 votes, as him “walking the walk”.

So in reality, they both have “talk” right now. And at least with Trump, I dont expect him to have introduced bills seeing that he isnt an elected member of government.

Cruz is by far the strongest candidate from either party, and it's not even close. Looking forward to a great 2016!!

Presbyterians do not wear their religion on their sleeves.

You should have never written that. I did not in any way suggest a candidate should do so. The only mention was that Cruz makes it obvious the wisdom to rule comes from God. Trump makes it clear that HE is the one from which the success flows. That is all.

My point was it’s up to you to use your favorite search engine to do your own research. Demanding other posters be responsible for your research is either lazy or intellectually dishonest.

“Yesterday a Trump supporter posted that he found it offensive, that Cruz was turning into the “Christian Taliban.” “

yeah...get that Trump smear in there. Pathetic.
Fact is Cruz rubs the middle the wrong way with his Christian values which are seen as holier than thou, and extreme. The only way he EVER gets the nomination is if the powers that be force him in to guarantee an easy Hillary win.

I agree with you that Cruz is a great conservative. But he would be better on the Supreme Court than in the Oval Office. We need a seasoned executive who is not owned by the Uniparty Donors. There’s only one.

Build a wall, renegotiate trade agreements, rebuild the military, reduce taxes rates, cut the bureaucracy and reduce excessive regulations, save the Second Amendment and bring jobs back to the middle class. That would be a good start. I have more faith in Trump to get most of this stuff done than Ted.

Not smart to make assumptions. I have investigated the horror that the DC Cartel orchestrated against Chris McDaniel to the nth degree. I was well aware that Cruz didn’t lift a finger during the actual lowdown, corrupt and filthy theft. I.e.: during the time frame when Cochran was still defeatable.
, as opposed to after he was once more safetysafely ensconced in the Permanent Political Class Cartel.

It’s fine to claim to be against the Capital Cronies. But it’s what you actually accomplish against them that counts.

When Cruz supporters think of his “leadership in the Senate” they cannot point to legislation X, Y, or Z. In truth, what kind of leadership/authority could any first-term senator expect to be given. The very nature of this broken body is to suck up to the power-elites, bow down, kiss their rings and maybe, just maybe, you’ll be given some role on a committee somewhere. So, you have a point there. But, what you miss is that the Senate has become such a corrupt institution that the way to show leadership there is to stand up to it, is to speak out against it, is to, if necessary, call its leadership to task, not work WITH it (for then, you would [rightly] be hounding him for going along with the entrenched elites.)

No, you are mistaken. Cruz demonstrated the kind of leadership that was called for at the time — opposition to a corrupt, sick body that was legislating the United States into ever-increasing, ever-bloated government.

No, McDaniel himself makes the Cruz case. He just campaigned across Mississippi with Cruz in the Cruz campaign bus. He is now Cruz's campaign chair in Mississippi.

(Excerpt from link:)

McDaniel says Cruz helped him. Who are you to say differently.

Give it a rest.

So, you are advocating dictatorship by a progressive as a solution? Our government is corrupt, do you expect them to vote for reform?

Ted Cruz is a Tea Party cantidate, one who fought for exactly what he promised. The first honest Constitutionalist in a decade, and you blame him for not single handedly reforming the entire government as a junior member?

He has been honerable and honest with a little power, lets trust him for more.

Has Trump been honest with his greater power of being a Billionaire? No, he was part of the problem, willing to compromise with the Democrats, to obtain government influence with his wealth to inrich himself.

Trumps selfish history of corruption, and anti constitutionalist abuse of power clearly disqualifies him from the highest office in the land.

I want a President who respects the office, and will live by the law, not be a law unto himself.

Cruz defended McDaniel after the DC Cartel’s theft of the election was a done deal. No can can fault McDaniel for appreciating that, nor have I done so. My point, however, is with re to the theft itself. Namely, as it was actually taking place, Cruz did nothing. This is a fact.

Trump is not magical. He would face the same challenges with milquetoast Republicans that President Cruz will face.

Trumps strategy, by his own admission, has been to throw enough money at the strategic politicians to get his way.

We don't need that in a president. We need a tough conservative. We need Cruz.

"yeah...get that Trump smear in there. Pathetic."

You and other Trump supporters manage to smear yourselves with your anti-Christian attacks from the left. For example:

"Fact is Cruz rubs the middle the wrong way with his Christian values which are seen as holier than thou, and extreme. The only way he EVER gets the nomination is if the powers that be force him in to guarantee an easy Hillary win."

Yeah, yeah, the vaunted and mystical middle voters that we always need to put us over the top. Keep promoting that proven lie.

We can't win without the base and the evangelicals. Cruz will deliver them, and he will win the nomination and the election.

Like Brent Bozell said, "Make no mistake: Cruz is not surging. He's winning the primaries."

And progressives like you are going nuts.

This is the MO. Cruz supporters cannot discuss facts. They must instead smear the people who bring the facts to light.

Here is the fact. While the GOPe was stealing the election from McDaniel in ways that would make a corrupt Dem blush, Cruz did not intervene.

Even invoking the name of Trump without the appropriate honorifics and pious kneebending proclamations of awe is considered heresy by many of his goofball messianic worshippers.

They make the obamabots seem secular by comparison.
