Everyone Fears Ted Cruz
Right Wing News ^ | 01 Jan, 2016 | Brent Smith

Yes, Cruz is the real deal. No need to take my word for it. Just look and listen. It's as Limbaugh says: the left and the establishment right will always tell you who they fear the most.

Sure, they hate both Trump and Cruz. The hatred for Trump is understandable, from their standpoint. He makes republicans look bad – he's intolerant and generally causes them embarrassment. But the antipathy for Cruz is born of fear. They fear the end of the government gravy train if he get's elected. They fear that with Cruz at the helm, Americans may just discover they don't actually need Washington involved in every facet of their lives. They fear an uncompromising Constitutional standard bearer as head of the party.

So their strategy is to send out trusted surrogates to trash the candidate and place the seed of doubt in voter's minds (and big money backers) that a Cruz nomination will surely equal a Hillary win.

Case in point: Moderate republican shill and former George W. Bush communications director Nicolle Wallace said in an interview regarding Ted Cruz: "He is truly despised [by republicans] - he is not a team player" and is apparently the king of "hubris and egomania." She, like almost all other establishment hacks, pundits and politicians are just plain befuddled, as Wallace, with an uncomfortable laugh, tells the interviewer that Cruz is "at the top of the polls in Iowa, so I think voters are saying they just don't care."

The key here is not so much that Cruz is despised or is tops in hubris and egomania. No - it's that "he is not a team player." I'm reminded of the movie Johnny Dangerously. A gangster boss known as Johnny Dangerously is actually Johnny Kelly. His younger brother Tommy Kelly has no idea he is the notorious mob boss Dangerously. Tommy is appointed assistant District Attorney and vows to bring down the infamous gangster. The D.A., who's on the mob's take, invites Tommy to his palatial estate, which is all courtesy of gangster payoffs. He tells Tommy, he too could have what the D.A. has, as he proclaims, "It's all yours Tommy, if you play ball! What do you say?" – to which Tommy replies, "I'll see you in prison!"

With this unfortunate confirmation of the assistant D.A.'s lack of cooperation, the mob, unknown to Dangerously, attempts to then "take out" his younger brother Tommy.

Ted Cruz is Tommy Kelly. He must be taken out.

Wallace explains that, "these are good republicans who worked in the Bush administration and who clerked in the Supreme Court who say they would have a really hard time voting for Ted Cruz if he were the republican standard bearer."

What can you say to an exclamation such as that - but WOW! I've been holding my nose and pulling the lever for progressive establishment republicans since 1988 and these people have the nerve to cry over one conservative candidate? Look at who we've been conned and bullied into supporting, all for the good of the precious party! George H.W. Bush, the kinder/gentler progressive. Bob Dole, war hero, but his nomination was equivalent to a lifetime achievement award. George W. Bush, who merely pretended to be a conservative. Bush lied - my vote died. And of course the other two loser establishment picks: McCain and Romney.

And we're not allowed one candidate? This inner circle of power and control is very exclusive and conservatives are not allowed a seat at the table - and we certainly don't have the necessary accreditation to sit at the head of the table.

What have we conservatives been saying all along? If someone like Cruz or Trump gets the nomination, the establishment would much prefer a Hillary presidency and this is the exact veiled threat the establishment kingmakers sent Wallace out to disseminate.

They are scared to death of Ted Cruz. It is a delight to see and I personally count it as a gift to finally be able to back someone I believe in – not someone we have to settle on, or like Romney, try to convince ourselves that he will be okay. We finally have someone for whom we don't have to constantly wonder, "Is he for real this time?"

I used to be a Cruz supporter

I don't believe you, Mollypitcher1 Since Apr 22, 2015

but no more. He is too closely knit with several issues I do not like.

Your tinfoil is too tight.

Trump is the only candidate with the skill set we need at this point in time

What skill set? He's an empty suit selling a package. He is morally questionable (I would say bankrupt), to be kind, and liberal as the day is long just a few years ago. He's done absolutely *nothing* politically, has no military experience, does not believe in Conservative capitalism, he has his finger in the air all the time, and most of all, He is a bonafide member of the very ruling elite billionaires that he says he's against.

His song may be sweet to some (I find him exaggerated, loud, obnoxious, and prone to fits), but he has absolutely *nothing* to back those words up. Nothing!

You may as well believe in unicorns farting rainbows.

I swear, I had no idea how used car salesmen made a living until I began to fathom just how many people are gullible enough to believe such as Romney and Trump. There's a sucker born every day.

It was not Cruz that stopped comprehensive immigration. That is a myth

Senator Sessions is a liar, then?

It is understood that the defeat of Eric Cantor signed the death warrant for the Gang of 8's "comprehensive immigration reform". However, it would've passed far earlier had it not been for the efforts of Sessions and Cruz.

And if you think Paul Ryan is an improvement over Boehner, what can be said? ,/i>

Where, exactly, did I say that?

‘However, it would’ve passed far earlier had it not been for the efforts of Sessions and Cruz.’

Do you have a link to any actual evidence of this?

Ask Senator Sessions yourself.

Most likely comprehensive immigration was held up in the House bc the PEOPLE didn’t want it, and the Reps have to face their constituents more often than senators. (Plus the House is more conservative than the Senate. Amnesty was never going to sail through with the same ease as in the Senate.) In any event, amnesty passed the Senate with flying colors, so the poison pill didn’t even slow it down.

And whoever gave us Ryan—thanks for nothing.

Cruz resigned from the Elections Committee to which he had been assigned. He disapproved of their corruption which is fine, but he would have been much more useful and effective if he had stayed in the committee and fought them as well as revealing their corruption. Instead, he took the safe way out to preserve his own skin— he resigned which took him, a dissenter, out of the fight and allowed them to continue their corrupt ways. Cruz is NOT a fighter. This country needs a REAL fighter; one who can get the job done on time and under budget. It sure ISN’T Cruz. He’s great at grandstanding to draw attention, but there aren’t any scars on his knuckles.

There are no kneeling benches in a Presbyterian Church, nor in many other churches either. Obviously you demand PUBLIC kneeling to satisfy your personal ideas of what makes a Christian.
HOW DO YOU KNOW anything about Trump’s personal beliefs or practices? Do you have a crystal ball?

Well in 12 months you will get to see whether Trump is serious about the border or not. Right after he gets sworn in. :-)

You ignore the entire thread, and want me to personally retype it for you so you can ignore it again while being a contentious troll?

Go ahead and vote for your flip-flop progressive rude hero. You deserve each other.

I don’t need your “permission” to vote for whomever I please. You certainly have an overabundance of arrogance to presume you can sway my decisions with your rude assertions.
BTW The “entire thread” does NOT uphold your contentions.

Using someone and manipulating someone are too different things.....Trump is all about playing to an audiance with the tactics he brings from the entertainment industry and his inside knowledge of knowing how media works and is also manipulated.

You and your fellow Trump bashers are so far removed from the REAL ISSUES of this election it is sickening. Focus on the things that count instead of trying to cut Trump down with your continual illusions to his entertainment stint on T.V.
By the way, there are many Trump supporters including me who have NEVER seen Trump on The Apprentice. I do not waste my time with TV “Reality Shows” or other Media projects which make money off of couch potatoes.
Trump is not manipulating the media because of any tactic used but is drawing the media into the fire because he is striking home with real honest to goodness Americans who are FED UP with Washington and the Political Insiders, whatever their party.
I do not give a bloody damn what Trump’s brash words are because he is the ONLY one who is focusing on the ECONOMIC and IMMIGRATION PROBLEMS! THOSE are the critical issues of today in this country.
Cruz ENABLED McConnell to give Obama what he wanted too many times to suit me. He is an ENABLER no matter how he tries to deny it. He’ all hat and no cattle.

Republican liberal does not beat Democrat - Y'all didn't learn a lick from Romney, I guess... Or McCain...

If he doesn't have the Conservatives, and especially the Christian Right, he won't win. So he won't win.

But you won't - because you obviously don't care about records.

Found this in my study this morning. As a believer, I feel it is the only thing that will allow for a Cruz victory—repentance and prayer. It would be easy to conclude that God is not happy with the America of [now] 2016. We may continue (for a while) as a nation, continue down the path toward an increasing secularized society that will, in time, go by the wayside like so many others (perhaps even ultimately fall to the spread of Islam. Who knows.) But if we wish to continue as a nation “under God”, seeking to be blessed by God, we must repent and pray. See Nehemiah’s example below:

Neh 1:4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
Neh 1:5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
Neh 1:6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.
Neh 1:7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
Neh 1:8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:
Neh 1:9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
Neh 1:10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.
Neh 1:11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer.

It is my belief that many in the church today may well pray this prayer, but pray it amiss. Every christian must make this his/her own PERSONAL prayer. We must, each of us, repent and strengthen the things which remain in our own lives THEN we can turn our attention to interceding on behalf of a wayward nation.
