Starting with the election of Bill Clinton in 1992, I began noticing something. That year, people like Rush Limbaugh screamed from the airwaves, âThis is the most important election of our lifetime!â In every election since then, both sides have repeated this same mantra. Youâd think the electorate would have figured this fear-mongering out by now, but they havenât.
In this article, I make a different argument. Instead of it being the most important election of our lifetime, I think this is the most dangerous election since 1968. Why do I say that?
In the 1968 election, the country was split over the Vietnam War. There was a big hubbub at the Democratic Convention in Chicago. Internationally, the Soviets put down a rebellion in Prague and there was political unrest in Mexico. Generally, it was a time of world upheaval. Nixon won, and the war in Vietnam continued.
To win, Richard Nixon implemented the âSouthern Strategy.â He figured out that an electoral majority of southerners were pissed-off enough about the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act to switch parties from the Democratic âSolid Southâ to the Party of Lincoln. Theyâve been there ever since.....

The left is dangerous, immoral, and tyrannical.
Pure projection from a jihad supporter.
and Joey is their messanger.
It is evident. Joey B. King has never listened to Rush and is completely ignorant of Rush or his program.
My conclusion: Joey B. King is an idiot and I learned this from the second sentence.
Since ordinary Americans -- the people the radical demagogues call "right wingers" and "tea-baggers" -- are the only targets of political violence and violent political imagery, b***s***.
Pacifist are the parasites of freedom.
Dems always bring up the so-called "Southern Strategy" as if Nixon tricked Southerners into voting for him.
The fact is patriotic Southerners had had it with the growing drift of Dems into raging leftists. In 1972 there was no way patriotic Southerners were going to vote for George McGovern who represented a party that had tilted leftwards almost completely off its axis.
In short, the tale of the evil "Southern Strategy" is a complete fraud. There's no way conservative Southerners were going to support an increasingly leftist Dem party. Dems are still confounded by that simple reality.
It was more than a hubbub, it was a street riot, between the traditional democrats, and the Hard Line Leftists.
The Hard Liners won that battle, where it counted, on the Convention Floor, and the Dem Party took a hard Left turn. It's never really strayed from that hard line left course since then
Wow! Excellent examples.
“There’s no way conservative Southerners were going to support an increasingly leftist Dem party.”
This is true, but it made no difference. The Marxocrats have owned this country ever since FDR waltzed onto the American scene over 70 years ago. Even when the Republicans had some level of control of the legislative process the initiatives and programs that were implemented were under the total purview of the Marxocrats. Even the recent Republican victories have been for naught. There is no pretense anymore about the Republicans forcing the leviathan government to return to its constitutional limits. We now live under a completely tyrannical regime that has bipartisan support. The statist, collectivist Uniparty reigns.
Joey B. King - please - fade fade fade away.... It's NOT 1968...
