No but you are stretching the truth. His comments about single payer were made in 2000.
As I have posted, probably fifty times, he said in his book, published in 2011, that HE NO LONGER THINKS SINGLE PAYER WILL WORK. He supports abolishing Obamacare, allowing people to purchase insurance across state lines, and serious tort reform including loser pay.

Realize this argument is about political candidates. Honesty isn’t the top priority
in campaigns but rather pitching to the particular voters at that time is. Maybe not blatent
lies but some form of less than all the truth. Just enough to secure the vote is the aim.
