WHO WOULD DONALD TRUMP APPOINT TO THE SUPREME COURT? Letâs hope he wasnât serious about appointing his pro-abortion extremist sister.
By Frank Cannon â 12.23.15
Donald Trump says a lot of things. Weâve become all too used to that now. Some of these things should probably be taken with a grain of salt â âOnly Rosie OâDonnellâ comes to mind â but some deserve to be analyzed more closely.
Hereâs an example. Remember Trumpâs discussion about Supreme Court Justices back in August with Bloomberg Politics? Mark Halperin asked Trump, âIs there someone out there today who isnât on the [Supreme Court], but say, this is the kind of person I would consider for the court? How about your sister? Think sheâd be a good Supreme Court Justice?â
Trump responded, âWell, I donât want to mention names, I think itâs inappropriate to mention names, certainly at this stage so early when we have a long way to go. Oh, my sisterâs great. I have a sister whoâs on the Court of Appeals and she's fantastic. I think she would be phenomenal. I think she would be one of the best. But frankly, uh, I think she â weâll have to rule that out now, at least temporarily. But I do have a sister whoâs very smart and a very good person.â
Trump has generally been coy about Supreme Court justices, avoiding specifics and certainly not giving any insight into his personal litmus test or whether he even has one. He has praised Justice Clarence Thomas as âstrong and consistent,â while calling Chief Justice John Roberts âdisgraceful.â He recently criticized Justice Antonin Scalia for his comments opposing affirmative action during a Supreme Court hearing.
But outside vague statements of support or opposition, he has said very little about case law. ........

His sister who supports abortion and gay marriage?
No one else has the intelligence, Constitutional savvy and a brass pair to stand against the lefties
Why the heck would any candidate tip their hand on a SC nominee. (well hildabeast would probably nominate calerie jarret or huma wiener)
His sister was appointed by Reagan to the district court.
Yes1
Since he admires Judge Thomas, my guess would be someone like him.
And by Clinton to the US Court of Appeals- where Hillary got to vet every nominee applying a strict pro-abortion litmus test as she did with Breyer and Ginsburg. Trump’s sister obliged. Read the full article.

I won’t hold my breath. You can’t say in the same breath that his sister will be a great appointee and so would Thomas. The two are polar opposites.
Trump would say just about anything. He is NOT a principled conservative.
At a town hall someone suggested Cruz to the Supreme Court and Trump said that it was an interesting idea.
Trey Gowdy. Trey would be happier being on a bench, issuing sentences and ultimatums.
He can’t appoint his own sister. The senate would never confirm. He was just being nice to her.
According to the article:
Trump’s sister gave a full-throated defense for legalizing infanticide:
âThe Legislature’s argument that Roe and Casey are inapplicable to âpartial-birthâ abortion procedures because such procedures are infanticide rather than abortion is based on semantic machinations, irrational line-drawing, and an obvious attempt to inflame public opinion instead of logic or medical evidence,â Barry wrote.
ââ¦In what can only be described as a desperate attempt to circumvent over twenty-five years of abortion jurisprudence, the Legislature would draw a line based upon the location in the womanâs body where the fetus expires,â Barry continued. âEstablishing the cervix as the demarcation line between abortion and infanticide is nonsensical on its face as well as inaccurate because that line may be crossed in any number of abortion procedures which the Legislature concedes are constitutionally protected.⦠The Legislatureâs attempt to label the Act a birth, instead of an abortion, regulation is nothing more than an effort to cloud the issues and avoid clear precedent.â
The info is, indeed, vague.
I think he would tend to view the Constitution as a contract and would therefore lean toward conservative judicial appointments.
Nothing worse to a businessman than negotiating favorable contract terms and then having a judge negate them for fanciful reasons.
Oh and you think he’s going to say something not nice about his sister?
It would help to read the whole article. This is not a matter in which one can take a chance.
Michael Cohen.
This is not a being nice. Supreme Court appointments is very serious stuff. Interesting, that Trump has never attacked the gay marriage or abortion decisions.
