I've had both. I currently have two 1911s, a Colt and a Ruger Commander. Both cost more than the Glock 21 that I used to have. The Glock worked fine, and always went "BANG", but with every single magazine the first shot was always a flyer and my hand would take a beating when shooting it. My 1911s shoot to point of aim, and are less punishing during extended range sessions. I actually just traded the Glock and an old Remington 700 for a Smith & Wesson M&P AR-15. Not he cheap one either. Oh, the trade was set up online, no background check, no waiting period. God Bless Texas! Here's the new toy...
