My understanding is that the NRA cannot endorse before Iowa, but I have heard that a post-Iowa endorsement is a very real possibility.

It will sure be interesting to see if the NRA supports Trump. Of course with Trumps poll numbers, they may just want to back who they perceive to be the winner. But Cruz has been a strong advocate for gun owners for a long time. From Cruz’s website:

If you asked me who the NRA would have endorsed, Cruz was the first to quickly come to mind because of his long history as an advocate .... but then again, if they think Trump is likely to win, I can see that endorsement as well.
As I said, I don’t know the source & the author has a Russian name ..... oh wait, maybe this is some well-placed propaganda by Putin, since he seems to admire Trump! (laughing)

He should get the NRA endorsement. Trump is very vocal about his support of the second amendment and CC.
Hold it, the NRA getting behind the person that in his book “The America We Deserve” he calls for extended background checks, longer waiting periods, and an assault weapons ban.
I understand Trump is 100% pro-Second now, but he wasn’t always. Carson also was wishy washy on gun rights. Bush is a dunce on the subject. To me, the NRA has a candidate that has always been solid on the second amendment to choose. You know who that is.

Yeah I don’t think the NRA will be so foolish to endorse DT.
