Trump - who holds the lead in opinion polls in his bid for the Republican nomination and was dubbed the "absolute leader" in the race by Putin - said that by working together, the United States and Russia could work toward defeating terrorism and "restoring world peace."

The billionaire businessman's remarks were in stark contrast to his Republican rivals' rhetoric. Republicans have frequently taken to bashing Putin and have used his rocky relationship with Democratic President Barack Obama as evidence that the administration lacks strength in international affairs.

You might not like Trump, but the man is smart...and he knows when he sees another person serving their country and protecting it, unlike the idiot we have in our country today...

Just because he bends over, doesn’t mean we need to.....

Chances are Putin figures his own endorsement of TRUMP may hurt Trump. However, Putin may despise the Clintons, and appreciate a little clarity. Trump has pretty much got clarity all sewn up.

Yes, the men recognize each other as patriots, able and intelligent patriots. Putin must tire of insipid Hillary. Trump is a more worthy opposite number; they recognize each other is motivated by self-interest as national interest. There is less likelihood of our continued erosion, or of a dangerous mistake.

What does that even mean in this context?

Can you explain it in big people language?

Very well said. There are no longer major ideological differences with Russia since the end of the Cold War.

The Russians have a president who loves and protects his country. What a concept.

It’s crazy that Trump as a candidate may do more to better Russian diplomatic relations than Hillary and Obama have done in 7 years.

Trump is honored by praise from a KGB-bred autocratic thug—’nuff said.

“Russia is still an adversary of ours.”

In what area? Ideology? Territory? Natural resources? Economy? Science? Military? Russia seeking our destruction, what for? Please, be specific.
Cheers

“Russia is still an adversary of ours.”

But they shouldn’t be. Every President in the past 20 years has made the mistake of pushing Russia away. We should be putting a bear hug on them. They are not a threat to the US and they could be a good ally if played correctly.

Russia: Revenues $416.80 billion Ranked 12th.

USA: Revenues $2.45 trillion Ranked 1st. 6 times more than Russia

“Russia is still an adversary of ours.”

So were Germany, Japan and England at one time.

Putin handles the media differently; critics are killed.

Xi institutes more re-education as zeal for Communist dogma is washed away by capitalist satisfaction of basic needs.

Putin is revealed as a force in Blowing Up Moscow, 2006, Alexander Litvinenko and Yuri Felshtinsky. KGB veterans blow up Moscow apartment blocks, blame Chechens; Putin assumes power, re-ignites the war.

Said to be apolitical in the sense of Rommel, though a Stalinophile terming collapse of Soviet Union worst catastrophe of Twentieth Century.

Hillary failed at Re-Set. Obama was pathetic as flexible.

Trump and Putin represent their respective martial arts: the deal; the takedown.
