I’m sorry, but is there much from 1980’s still around? Sure, the lower tax structures (which, IMO, just made the ‘rich’ shift their ‘loopholes’ elsewhere. The game is still rigged pre- vs. post-), but I can’t for the live of me remember ANY great sucking sound as a department/agency was eliminated from the taxpayer bill? I remember how ‘proud’ we all were to be....’Merican, again.

Were any great number of laws and regulations wiped from the books (did the Federal Register/etc. go from a 10 volume set to 9...9.5)?

‘Bout the ONLY thing I recall was the end-all to the illegal immigration debate when D.C. allowed millions of lawbreakers to wipe the slate clean. Not you, I or any Citizen of this great nation, but those from abroad whom violated Law upon Law and suckled from the teat while contributing nothing in return to offset the balance.

Did we turn the corner on fiscal responsibility? Begin living again under the rules of our Constitution? Restore the Rights and Liberty of a once FREE people?

For, as far as I can see, the ‘great 1980’s revolution’ is hard to compare against the one from 1776. But hell, I guess after the great revolution of the last few elections....1980 WOULD feel like 1776 for all the goods its done.

Setting aside 1980 for a moment, what about 2000-2006, when we had control of the House, Senate, AND White House, and what do we have to show for that? The un-Patriot Act, "bipartisanship" and the beginning of "too big to fail"/bailout policy that was continued under odumbo. Thanks, Republicrats!
