This has always been the case, even today. Some school pools absolutely reek of chlorine, becoming in and of themselves toxic. There have even been studies that have ‘discovered’ most men do urinate in the shower, and it does no long term harm. Why someone would formally study that is beyond me.
Probably grant money is why. - Oh! Women urinate in the
shower, too. At least, Twinkies do.
