See, my point is that a blanket ban will need to give way to certain exceptions. Problem is, Trump doesn’t think a couple steps beyond his statement.

Exceptions are fine. Mistakes are ok too. The main point is to stop the majority of the future terrorists from entering. We can deal with the exceptions by keeping tabs on them and especially their religious "leaders".

The policy will be temporary but last until CAIR figures out a system to turn in terrorists and reward and protect anyone who turns in terrorists.

“...See, my point is that a blanket ban will need to give way to certain exceptions...”

Why complicate it? Next thing, we’ll have lawyers arguing for months over the definition of the different flavors of islam (spit) and then another one, two or twelve Jihadis get through and a Disney park (or whatever) becomes a killing ground.

Trump is not my guy, unless he makes it to the general. But just because it is Trump offering up this novel idea (being reasonable and prudent) that does not automatically render it invalid.

ALL refugees fleeing Syria had to pass though a neighboring country where - once they set foot across the border - their so called “oppression” ceased. The *only* reason they come to the USA, France, Germany, England is for the free benefits & welfare. Otherwise, they could go to Serbia, Bosnia, Latvia etc. The reason they don’t is that those countries won’t give them all the handouts we do.

“Profiling” for immigrants is both reasonable and prudent. Ellis Island was built for clear, obvious, reasonable and prudent precautions. We have options to filter all “refugees” somewhere offshore (Gitmo and/or other sites) who “profile” as muslim before allowing them entry/access. We did it as recently as the 90’s with El Salvadorans, Cubans and Haitians and they weren’t declaring war on us or trying to kill us in bunches. To even *hint* that it is inappropriate with muslims is indefensible. Adhering to “political correctness” in this situation is unarguably suicidal.

Yes, he does. His style is to release the overarching message watch the pundits and GOPe go agog, his numbers rise, he releases more details, and everyone moves on to the next ‘crisis’. Five steps ahead, always.
