The U.S. government was not instituted to take care of you. It was not instituted to feed you. It was not instituted to provide you with health care or insurance. It was not instituted to provide income for you in your old age. It was not instituted to educate you or your children. It was not instituted to dictate how your land could be used. It was not instituted to provide subsidies or special favors to some individuals and businesses. It was not instituted to prevent you from being offended. It was not instituted to provide charity programs for the citizens of other countries, in their own countries or within our own. It was not instituted to provide the defense bulwark for the entire world. It was not instituted to be an instrument to protect moral wrongs masquerading as rights. It was not instituted as a judicial oligarchy, where all final decisions are made by judges, and where legislators and executives can shirk their own responsibilities to support and defend the Constitution.
If you want to know what the U.S. government WAS instituted to do, go read the Constitution, and the words of the men who wrote it. It's all written in plain English. You don't have to be a lawyer or a scholar to understand it. You just have to be a citizen who cares about your own responsibilities and the fate of your posterity.
Short thread but cuts directly to the bone. Looking at what it took to get rid of slavery, I can’t fathom what it will take to get rid of liberal progressive socialism.
It’s going to take the mercy and grace of God, and a whole different set of leaders.
Thanks.
I’m afraid we’re living in a day when most conservatives don’t even know what conservatism is, much less anybody else.
100%
The government is SUPPOSED to protect us from foreign invaders...instead they’re doing the opposite.
It’s all upside down.
Remember, the Constitution was written to protect us from government.
No but a law was passed and 7% of my income has gone to social security so I want my money back.
Exactly.
But what generations are being taught in the schools (and that matters)and what generations are being taught by the media, and what some generations of some cultures have lived, this is where we are today.
Yes!
Sorry. It was a lawless "law," and you were lied to and robbed. That money is all GONE.
I hate to be the one to have to break it to you, but the only way you can get your money back is to also lie to, and steal from, your own children and grandchildren.
Which of course is also immoral and unconstitutional.
Who exactly do you think has the obligation to break the chain of lies and deceit and theft brought about by the abandonment of the entire concept of constitutionally-limited self-government?
If not us, who?
EXACTLY ! ~ What is taught ...in the beginning, the young in schools are taught nothing about the early beginnings of our country. This, it is believed, was put in motion in the early 1950’s. This was seen around 1953-4 and lack of this education continued to rise with each passing year. We were not taught about our government, why it was formed in such a way. We were not taught about the true meaning of Thanksgiving. It was not until the true value of this Day was heard on Rush’s show that it was personally known. EVERY YEAR THAT STATES MUST RELY ON FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR FUNDS is a year they turn local schools over to FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. THE FEDS then make the rules and regulations which must be followed or else. An entire generation has been ignored...and we are now living the results. Day by day..in America we see the pitfalls and the failures. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should keep its nose out of states affairs...and above all else...OUT OF OUR SCHOOLS.
nor was the constitution instituted in order to coddle the sensitive feelings of thin skinned whiney groups of people like liberals- Yet sadly the Supreme Court is turning our constitution into a delicate sensibilities protecting document
Yep!
Of course you’re right.
Pretty sure I got that in there, though, in so many words.
sorry- I just skimmed your article— and missed that point- oh well- now two of us have said it lol
Can’t say it too many times!
:-)
Thanks!
Great post. I hope you send it to papers and commentators. I send the below letter on July 4.
American Dream
On July 4 we recognize the Declaration of Independence which defines the American Dream as inalienable natural rights including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Constitution establishes a government to secure those rights by promoting the general welfare, and the blessings of liberty.
Whatever he Constitution further defines is subservient to natural human rights independent of and superior to any government construction. Most importantly they are intangible property sourced in personal opinion, religion, communications, use of abilities to labor physically and mentally, and in conscience. Only by application of these inherent rights can one truly hold material things.
The American Dream never meant government largess ensuring home values, college funds, retirement accounts, savings, executive severance packages, affordable healthcare, homeownership, lifetime employment, corporate wealth, political careers, and union benefits.
Politicians become patricians offer enchanting elements of material security such as described above, while obscuring subservience to rules vastly increasing their power. Legislation routinely negates our Bill of Rights confiscating freedoms for apparitions of material prosperity.
Administrative laws and regulations are the soft underbelly of our Constitution. Under English common law, which serves as the basis for our Constitution, a person is innocent and not subject to the penalties of the law until proved guilty. Under administrative law like Roman civil law a person is subject to its penalties and restrictions until they discover a way to legally extricate themselves. Citizens routinely make Faustian bargains which exchange the essence of their humanity for illusions of material comfort.
