Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson wrote in his 1999 book that he did not identify as a conservative Republican and that he considered it a “waste of human brainpower†to be anything other than an independent.
Carson identified as an independent for years in his home state of Maryland, and only recently switched his affiliation to the Republican party last year...

Once upon a time Ronald Reagan would not have
referred to himself as as a conservative Republican.
Then, I’d like to know if he voted for McCain or Obama?
After his disgusting comment on Terri, Carson is much ado about nothing. Trump is right, again. He’s one sick creature.
Trump was a Democrat much more recently than that.

I got that one wrong. I had heard he was a demonrat before becoming a Republican instead of an Independent and I didn't check or verify.

Trump was not a Conservative Republican either in the 90s.
Ted Cruz, the only consistent Conservative. He spent years fighting for the Cause winning several SC cases.
Trump was a host at the ‘88 RNC convention. He was a Republican before he did that.
Trump was a Republican in the 80’s.

I agree...I don’t consider him a conservative Republican either.
I was beginning to feel hat given enough time, he’d implode from his own words and statements. The more we learn, the more we see another GOPe candidate. Even if he changed parties legitimately, he is still too much a statist, socialist for me. On one poll that I don monthly, I had been choosing him as my 3rd choice, but I’ve already changed that before reading this.
I’d almost rather vote for Jeb, honestly. At least you KNOW what Jeb stand for and is. Carson is becoming a loose cannon. Not sure what he will say or do next, and the “soft talk” is not setting real well.
He’s like a friggin hungry zombie how he rants about “Brains”.
