The economic recovery that is going on here in Reno, but also statewide, is one of the best success stories of the decade. Not only is Teslaâs battery gigafactory creating an amazing resurgence, but other major factories are moving to the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, will house Switch, the worldâs largest data center, along with some other huge names, including Amazon and Apple. Electric carmaker Tesla has announced that it will obtain lithium for its batteries from two companies in northern Mexico, leaving Nevada lawmakers who approved major tax incentives for the company frustrated.

The plant is progressing nicely and will start operations early next year. Silver Peak is not yet big enough to insure a steady flow of material to feed the monster operation. Other sites are being expanded or developed as we chat.
