Barack Obama sent a guided missile destroyer into disputed waters in the South China Sea to see if the Chinese would start shooting at it.

Maybe he really wants to give them a guided missile destroyer so they can strip it of our latest naval technology, and is using the threat of war as cover for the Chinese to seize the ship?

Remember when the Chinese downed an American EP-3 intelligence plane in 2001? How do we know that Obama doesn't want the Chinese to get their hands on this ship, too?

The only downside I can see to Communist China becoming a radioactive swamp is where in the world will Wal Mart get more junk to fill their shelves?

Similar to their stance with North Korea, the LAST thing China wants is war with the US!

Why build up your economy, to senselessly abort it a few weeks from term?

The Chinese may be a lot of things, buy aren't aren't dumb.

I'm for doing FON exercises. Just not inside 12 mile internationally recognized limits even if it is disputed territory. If China has broken international laws by building man made islands in international waters, that would be something to be settled at UN, not the high seas with weapons loaded and O in the oval office, IMHO.

On the one hand, this administration quickly points to UN authority when it comes to its desire to implement internal regulations on say gun control, global warming, sustainability, etc. But when it comes to other countries, this administration wants to unilaterally force its will. Something is screwed up here, if you ask me.

Obama doesn’t know what to do about China.

There’s no black people there, there’s no Muslims to speak of. There are no long-standing American-leftist narratives to guide him there. They are communists, but his political roots and certainly his leftist base and labor aren’t particularly fond of China.

As such, his ideological glasses, through which he must process everything, just don’t work.

China probably understands this. In light of that, you can argue that China could have been even much more aggressive over these past 8 years than they have been.

War with China would be a disaster to "Free Trade", why the USA may have to start making things again! catastrophe!....

The USA is not going to start "making things again" probably ever. The leftist unions, minimum wage morons and anti-capitalist socialists in charge of running and ruining the nation will make damned sure of that. It's all about creating dependency upon foreign goods and destroying us from within for these leftists.... and then of course, blaming capitalism for the resultant destruction.

I would want one who takes American interests seriously. soebarkah ain’t it. More likely this had something to do with Indonesia’s national stake in the region. Not ours.

He is not mentally unstable.

He has an agenda.

Contrary to popular opinion, psychopaths are not crazy or unstable.

He is doing everything without registering any motion on his conscience meter.

Obama is a man with a plan and he is working it to the letter.

“Contrary to popular opinion, psychopaths are not crazy or unstable.”

You must mean sociopaths. Psychopaths are most definitely crazy and unstable.

Its not internationally recognized they have no one that recognizes this artificial island except the communist chinese. This need to be done or it set a dangerous precedent. The law is not on their side.

This makes perfect sense.

Zero hates the US military and wants do destroy it.

Zero hates the Chinese because the Chinese understand the threat of Islam, and are doing something about it.

For him, a Muslim, what better scenario, than having a war with China and perhaps Russia?

He gets to see the weakening and/or destruction of all the non-Muslim major militaries.

Then his ISIS pals can step in and conquer what's left.

The UN is worthless and never settles anything of value without the US doing the heavy lifting. Surely you dont put faith in the UN its an anti-US and anti-Israel organization.

Corporations made plenty of money when they made things in the USA. The off shoring trend was to increase profits and not create them were none existed. So offshoring has a few winners, the stock holders for one and many, many losers. The myth that the reduced production cost is passed on to the consumer is just that, a myth. The difference in the average per unit cost in production is 4 cents on the dollar. That's all. Quality has suffered because engineering is minimal and materials are generally cheap. We have many people idle while this unforced de industrialization continues.

Right now unions only represent 10% of the manufacturing workers in America, not significant. The off shored factory has a 90% chance of being non - union.

Wise up, and question the anti US gloBULList propaganda.

There are many things worth going to war over, like actual impedance of navigation, invading hordes, second amendment, private property, life, freedom, Israel, attacks against ourselves or allies, and etc. A sand castle that we're not even sure if it is lawful or unlawful under international law, and that is not actually impeding navigation, IMO, isn't an issue worth starting WWIII over.

If the UN can't play a role in making a determination and ruling on something as simple as this, and which has multinational interest, what the hell good is the UN?

My other point was: why is this administration so quick to take our country's internal matters before the world court, but not this? Seems counter intuitive to me. But that's just me FRiend.
