The linked Weekly Standard piece omits an important part of the Clockmed story. Since Ahmed's "invention" was just a disassembled old Radio Shack Micronta clock, he did not bring the clock to school to show off his skills as an electronics whiz. Most five year old boys can use a screwdriver.

If this was not a bomb hoax, then why did Ahmed bring the old Micronta clock to school?
