I don’t see an actual quote but it says a donor “no name” PARAPHRASED his words...Everywhere you see lies, distortions and misconstrued article headings. We have got to not fall into the democrat trappings - Bush has been careful in all his public appearances to not appear political in his statements (something I wish he were less so when it comes to his successor) but that enforces the whole thing that I don’t think he came right out and said something that strong against TED Cruz.
There are a couple of direct quotes in the Politico article, if this is, in fact, a fabrication I suspect that will reveal itself somehow.
You make a good point.
Thank you. It is the biggest reason I'm growing quite tired of this site, at least with the comments (not the articles and references per se). Far too many people gobbling up whatever these media-type sources (e.g. Politico) are feeding them. I'm not saying this story is or isn't true, just that I don't give the authors the benefit of the doubt. I had a meltdown recently with a bunch of people here at this site automatically (and I believe conveniently) buying what the Rolling Stone had to say with little or no reluctance, which really boiled my blood. Took a while for me to even read a damn comment here after that. The onus should on the authors or other author's providing more proof of what the contention is.
