Islam teaches young men that all western women are whores, and that since they aren't Muslim, they not only deserve to be raped, Muslim men have every right to do so. It's a problem wherever these scum have settled in large numbers. It's not just some "sick jerks" anymore than jihadist murder is "random violence". How you can be unaware of that as a regular FReeper is beyond me.
I can only say that my husband and I lived in the KSA for five years. I didn't have that problem as the men who worked around us were Saudi men in their thirties and older, all married with children.
Also, there had been Americans there in the KSA since the 1920's so perhaps they were more used to Western women than other Muslim men.
Five years there, years. I saw them just as people, working stiffs and quite ordinary. BUT, the Arabs do NOT think the way we do. Once one realizes that and accepts it then one can deal well with them.
Also, if we HATED living over there we were allowed to LEAVE immediately. No one ever forced us to stay there. The exit visa was always poised and ready for any foreigner to get.
We went there only for money. We got the money and then got outta Dodge.
