” Ted Cruz recognizes that this is not about some peripheral disagreement between parties on how to govern a country game that so many typical moderate get along Republicans play. He wants to defeat them and remove the cancer that they spread that is killing our country.”

First - Trump has been a liberal all his life until seemingly recently. That does not engender trust.

Second - Cruz has been kicking leftist ass, in public, since he was attorney general for Texas.

There has been one vote in the Senate that I am not sure about and I’m not sure I trust his wife. But he is far and away the most consistently conservative candidate.

I’m frustrated by Trump supporters who love his rhetoric now (which I do also) but are not taking the time to analyze has past.

“First - Trump has been a liberal all his life until seemingly recently. That does not engender trust.”

Private citizen Trump is free to hold whatever position he wants. He has not been a liberal all of his life though. If the positions he’s articulating now is what he truly believes, then I cant do much more than take him at his word. I think most people realize that he has been all over the place through the years, so oddly enough it actually makes him seem more trustworthy in that his positions were through honest reflection and not just what he got from (insert source here) and that he has no mind of his own.

“Second - Cruz has been kicking leftist ass, in public, since he was attorney general for Texas.”

Unfortunately this isnt really a process of sitting down with resumes and a highlighter to see who has the biggest conservative record. If you cant articulate the mood of the electorate in a way that resonates, then you wont get anywhere in 2016. Just ask Scott Walker.

And if a supposedly fake conservative like Trump is doing better than the 100000% real one since birth, that should give you some pause as to how effective Cruz would be in an election where Trump was not in it. I can already see the 1000000 whiny posts about how the media is not letting Cruz get his message out and how the GOPe is sabotaging him. When you blast them like Trump has then that problem magically goes away.

This election people seem to want a nationalist with a conservative edge that can articulate positions that are important to the right, AND not be pushed around by the left. Not in a too slick for school way, but in language that the man on the street understands.

If Cruz wants this, then he needs to see that. He gives really good speeches so polished that you can see yourself, but it seems to leave people with a sense that you then have to back out of the room quietly whispering “thank you”. Trump seems like the guy at the bar that gets up on a chair, says it direct, gruff, and afterwards he buys everyone a round of beer.

“I’m frustrated by Trump supporters who love his rhetoric now (which I do also) but are not taking the time to analyze has past.”

It’s a matter of “trust, but verify”. Trump isnt known to be a liar, at least no one has ever accused him of it as far as I can see. What he says is usually what he means. He has certainly move around over the years (that cannot be debated), but that is his typical CEO thinking. You take a position based on what you see is the most credible option at the time, and when it doesn’t work anymore, you look for a better one. That’s not to say he hasn’t had consistent positions as his books going back almost 30 years show that.

It’s really hard to say that he is in this running a huge con. It doesn’t make any sense for him to do so. He has FU money, and can easily retire on a Pacific island. Why would he put his name through all of the crap that he has so far just for giggles?

Budget: Cruz has made massive financial deals, has put tens of thosuands of people to work, has run a billion dollar business, and protected a bottom line.  Next flight of fantasy...
Civil Liberties: Trump has said he'll round up and deport illegal immigrants, build a wall that is 60 feet tall along our border.  This results in his red marker on civil liberties.  No sale.
Free Market: The "FREE MARKET"...  Nothing in life is free.  The cost of this "FREE MARKET" has been tens of millions of U. S. jobs.  Trump wants to bring them back.  That warrants a red marker.  LOL
Health Care and Entitlements: Trump has proposed a private sector replacement of Obamacare.  He wants to reduce entitlements as part of getting the budget under control.  This red marker is simply proposterous.
Moral issues:  What moral issues?  Good grief.  Name one moral issue Trump has a problem with.
Second Amendment:  This is simply a fraud.  Trump has a paper on Second Amendment rights, and it's recognized as a good one.
Taxes, Economy, and Trade:  Trump's tax position is good.  His economic experience is second to very few U. S. Citizens.  His trade view are more solid than any other candidate's.

In Cruz's favor, his free market mark isn't deserved either.

Trump is the go to guy because of his economic experience.  He is solid on other issues as well, but second to illegal immigration, our national debt and related matters are vitally important and need to be addressed.  Trump is the only candidate with the experience necessary to do that.

Cruz supporters are pleased to drop this bomb on the forum.

It isn't an accurate display on Trump.  As such it's actually a smear on Cruz when his supporters tout it as a reason to support Cruz.  What they should be doing is pointing out the obvious flaws in this ranking.  And RANK is the proper word here....
